Aims and Scope

Mechanics of Advanced Composite Structures is an enabler of information exchange among mechanical, metallurgical, civil, chemical, and aerospace engineers as well as students and researchers concerned with all branches and aspects of composite materials science and engineering. Its focus is on the most recent original theoretical, experimental, and analytical researches and findings on the mechanical, structural, thermal properties, and fabrication techniques relevant to the application of advanced materials and composite structures including macro-to-nano reinforcements in polymeric, metallic and ceramic matrices.  Fatigue and fracture properties, creep and stress relaxation, impact damage behavior, condition monitoring, damage detection and identification, vibration analysis, structural dynamics characterization, and durability and aging are given special attention. Research papers that explore new and innovative aspects of mathematical models and computational methods including multi-scale techniques, atomistic molecular dynamics simulation and continuum methodology are especially welcome.
